Hi, I just got a few dozen job abortions out of nothing after it was running well for a few days already without problems: ------------------------------------------------------------ Warning: No display specified. Hi Holger, "hhoffmann" schrieb: Does this come in often? actually, this shouldn't happen anymore. This is the reason why we have special "Matlab-nodes" so that we don't go over the license limit anymore. Could you let us know which job id that was? We'd like to narrow down the search to the license problem (specifically the time when the problem occured). Maybe we need to reduce the number of hosts where Matlab runs so that this doesn't happen again. Cheers, Paul |

Hi Holger, unfortunately this was not a problem of too few licenses available, but a connection error. The error number -15 translates to "Cannot connect to license server system." while hitting the license limit would give -87 "Checkout exceeds MAX specified in options file." The reason for error -15 is either a network error or the license manager was down at the time your job was about to start. This can happen in the morning, when we restart the LM in order to include recent changes to the configuration. In case this happens again: just re-submit the jobs and they should run fine. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Best regards Andreas |

Hi, I`m sorry to reopen this thread, but I'm running into license kills in the afternoon, possibly due to using the global opt. tbx? Job-ID: 563856[401] Job-Name: frost_UBA This message was returned: ----------------------------------------------------------- {License checkout failed. Hi Holger, are other jobs running through ok? It could be that the license manager was restarted while one of your jobs tried to start. It'd be best to ask Andreas directly about this. Cheers, Paul |

Hi Paul, Andreas is helping me out to fix this - the way the jobs were submitted they were using way too many licenses. One solution could be to compile the routines prior to submisssion. We are testing this. The last jobs are still in the Queue (already for ~6 hours(?): 564270[].batch sa8 nhpghoff 0 Q all 564271[].batch sa8 nhpghoff 0 Q all thx, Holger |
